I’m a newly-wed! Tied the knot with the love of my life almost a month ago! We had a small wedding in a friends backyard, similar to the “Facebook” wedding, small, intimate and special. About 50 people joined us to celebrate this momentus occasion in our adventure together.
Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way I wanted to share with you some of the apps that made our day a little less stressful.
1. Wedding Snap $99 – $189
Have you ever attended a wedding where disposable cameras were being circulated around at tables to capture moments of your big day from the guests point of view? Well in a nutshell, that’s what Wedding Snap does via iPhone or Android Device, except better. With Wedding Snap we were able to instantly view our photos during the wedding.
Here’s how it works: Purchase your package, send your guests instructions for downloading and encourage them to take pictures through the app. As our guests took pictures of our wedding day, the photos started appearing in an album just for us. Guests who didn’t have the app that took pictures on their phones or digital cameras were also able to upload their files directly to our wedding album from their computers.
2. Clear $2.99
Clear was useful for our wedding day specifically for my husband. He had a long list of items to take care of to make sure that everything made it to the wedding site on time. It was handy to have a user-friendly list master in his hand to check off everything that needed to be done that day.
Using Clear is like using a very pretty piece of notepad paper to jot down things you need to do, and that’s exactly what my husband wanted on our wedding day. But maybe most of all, marking items as finished in Clear is just so satisfying, especially on our Wedding Day.
3. Pinterest App - Free
I am an active user on Pinterest and had been collecting photos for the wedding. I had a whole section dedicated to hair styles and had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted my hairstylist to do. The night before my wedding, my hairstylist cancelled on me. I didn’t know what to do. A friend suggested that I make a hair appointment and show them some pictures of what I wanted my hair to look like. I immediately thought of my pictures on my Pinterest account which converts automatically to the app on our phone. My hair turned out beautifully that day.
I use the Pinterest app all the time, because it’s a clean and simple app that doesn’t do anything spectacular but also doesn’t do anything wrong. The colors are kept to a minimum and buttons and menus are a muted grey and a splash of red – for the Pinterest logo and for the active button in the bottom menu.
We also read our vows from our phones, to add a special touch to our special day. All in all the wedding was fantastic.
