Cool New App:
What is this? Another photo-sharing app? You could look at the sheer number of these kinds of apps out there and think that there are just too many, or you could look on the bright side: with so many of them, you are bound to find one photo-sharing app the works directly for your very specific niche! OutMyWindow is a new app that offers very specific filters for who can see your photos, meaning that you choose who can see through your various “windows.” The app offers a simple, one-click tool that’ll let you decide who can view what, making this the perfect app for someone who wants a little more privacy than Facebook offers.
Food For Thought:
As excited as we are about OUYA, this Mashable article brings up a few interesting points to ponder about what’s in store for the console as it enters the next stage of its Kickstarter campaign. Although plenty of game developers (including us!) have jumped on board with the Android-powered game console, a few developers have expressed interest but haven’t opened their wallets, mainly because they don’t know what to expect from the console. The excitement surrounding OUYA is only matched by its secrecy…a double edged sword if there ever was one.
On the Horizon:
Although we’re big fans of Square over here at Rocksauce Studios, we’re also pro-competition. Therefore, we welcome the expansion of Square’s European competitor, iZettle, and hope that it’ll come stateside soon. Although both apps appear similar (for those unfamiliar, they’re mobile payment apps that let businesses accept credit and debit card payments through the phone), iZettle is making a big jump: it’s going to Android! It’s easy to foresee a future where these two come to blows on the North American shores. And where is PayPal in all of this? Hopelessly behind, it seems.
Cool Video:
