Companies are sometimes forced to downsize and people lose their jobs. This is a fact about the business world and to say otherwise would be pretending that we live in a perfect world. However, there is a proper way to let your employees go and then there is the hugely improper, hideously disgusting way to let your employees go. Yesterday, hugely popular game developer Zynga indulged in the latter. The sudden termination of 5% of the company’s workforce (complete with the order to vacate the premises in two hours with no notice) was timed to coincide with the Apple keynote yesterday, a cynical attempt to get this done while the tech world was looking elsewhere. That’s just gross, Zynga.
Do you live in Chicago? Are you Spring customer? Do you want access to some sweet, sweet LTE? Too bad! However, your suburban neighbors may be in luck…
“Parking Douche” may be a terrible name for a mobile app, but there’s no denying that this Russian-developed app looks like one of the coolest ways of dishing out social justice in recent memory. If you see someone parked in such a way that can best be described as “douchey” (On the curb! Across two spots! In a crosswalk!), take a picture and upload it into the app. The app will then alert other people in the area about the douchebag who’s parking like a jerk and encourage them to share to the image, making the bad parker’s public shaming viral. Ah, sweet, sweet justice!
