Since her creation, Siri has been one of the coolest things about Apple, a look into a future where all of our computers and devices are voice controlled. She’s also been untouchable, towering over all of the competition in both quality and presentation. But that may soon change. Google Voice Search (Google’s answer to Siri) recently received a major upgrade…and it may have the edge of Apple’s go-to girl.
A side-by-side comparison of Siri and Google Voice (which you can watch embedded below) showcase the new reality. Google Voice is now significantly faster than Siri and capable of answering questions that Siri struggles with. Watching our darling Lady of Apple struggle to keep up with the new and improved Google app is heartbreaking. We’ll wipe away our tears while we download Google Voice and start using it for everything.
Or will we? There remains one final sticking point for iPhone users: Siri remains integrated into iOS and can be accessed instantly, while Google Voice still has to be opened and used like a regular app. So, it looks like iPhone users have a choice: do you stick with Siri or try out Google Voice?
